Units of Measure
Whether you're talking about storage space or rates of speed
for your computer, you will speaking about bits and bytes.
For example, if you say that you have a 500 GB hard drive
you're actually saying that you have 500 gigabytes of
storage space. Or, you may say you have a 54
MBps high speed internet connection which means you're speed
is 54 megabits per second.
Here's how bits and bytes breakout:
Bit = one unit (0 or 1) of the binary system
Byte = 8 bits
Kilobit (Kb) = 1,000 bits
Kilobyte (KB) = 1,000 bytes
Megabit (Mb) = 1,000,000 bits
Megabyte (MB) = 1,000,000 bytes
Gigabit (Gb) = 1,000,000,000 bits
Gigabyte (GB) = 1,000,000,000 bytes
Terabit (Tb) = 1,000,000,000,000 bits
Terabyte (TB) = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes
This is a simplified list to give you an idea of what you're
looking at when you see something like 20GB or 500MB but the
reality is those numbers get a lot more complicated and
higher. You can do an internet search to find more
info.
Pixels to Inches
1000 pixels = 3.333 inches
900 pixels = 3.000 inches
800 pixels = 2.666 inches
700 pixels = 2.333 inches
600 pixels = 2.000 inches
500 pixels = 1.667 inches
400 pixels = 1.333 inches
350 pixels = 1.167 inches
300 pixels = 1.000 inches
250 pixels = .833 inches
200 pixels = .667 inches
100 pixels = .333 inches
10 pixels = .033 inches
